Why I Became a Beautycounter Consultant
Whenever people ask me why I became a Beautycounter consultant, there is basically a short and a long answer.
Short answer: the world needs more people who believe that beauty products should actually be good for us.
The long answer is a little bit of science but a lot about my family.
I opened up a little bit about this last week, but I’m going to go deeper today.
First, we’re always told to focus on what we’re putting in our bodies, but with our skin being the largest organ of them all, it’s equally important to pay attention to what we’re putting on it. Think about it like this: our bodies are amazing and everything that we eat goes through our digestive tract. What we need to fuel us and keep our bodies functioning properly stays and the unnecessary crap goes bye-bye.
But what about our skin? Remember, it’s our largest organ.
Every single thing that we put onto our skin gets absorbed into our bodies and goes straight into our bloodstream. Think about it. Would you put crap on your babies skin if you knew that it was going to get instantly absorbed and then could cause medical problems later on in life (yes…most beauty products contains known carcinogens)? You wouldn’t if you knew better, so stop doing it.
Do I sound harsh? Maybe. But it’s the cold hard truth and what I’m explaining here only scratches the surface.
MAKE BETTER CHOICES FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

Looking back, I wish that we knew what we know now about clean beauty when we had Branden. But you live and you learn right? About 5 years ago I had a deskside with the owner of the brand Shoosha, a food grade organic line for mom and baby and I learned so much that I got home and wrote the post in the first comment. It fired me up. I was mad about how unclear labels are and vowed to make better choices for our family. Whenever Blake was born, that was the only brand that we let touch her skin during her first year of life.
Every year we got a little smarter.
A year and a half ago we removed fragrance from our household to only use essential oils and by the end of 2019 we will be 100% using all Beautycounter products for all of us.
Truth: the government hasn’t passed any laws that regulate personal care product labeling since 1938.
Digest that for a second.

There are over 1,500 questionable ingredients in the products that you find at Walmart, target, and even Sephora. These are on “the never list” list at Beautycounter just FYI.
So yes, choosing products that are safe for my family to put on their bodies from head to toe is my “why.” I want to feel good about the cleanser Chris uses, the men’s body wash Branden is now using (eeek!) and the lip gloss that Blake begs to put on her lips.
These are my people. The people who I love with all my heart and want to see grow to get very, very old. I couldn’t live with myself if something happened to them because of the chemicals they were putting on their skin because of a shitty product I bought at Target on sale. I’m making it my business to share this with the world.
It’s time for #betterbeauty

Some of us were born to be leaders in this clean beauty revolution and if you feel like you might have that calling, I would LOVE to have you on my team!
Whats different about becoming a Beautycounter consultant?
It’s a little different than other MLM opportunities. It only cost $98 to join, you receive 2 hero products (that would cost $98 if you bought them outright), a customized shopping link to share so that people can shop with you. You never have to buy products and inventory unless you want to (which you get 25% off) and you earn commission whenever people purchase through your shopping link. Building a team, again, is totally up to you. It’s not a situation where the person above you would ever be making money off of the person below them, with this company the team building is purely for community and encouraging one another. Once you bring on so many people, your commission does get higher, but again, if recruiting is not your thing – don’t do it!
