How to Get Rid of Dark Circles Under Eyes Naturally
I don’t just have dark circles under my eyes because I’m often up at night with a wild toddler who will knock on her bedroom door until someone answers to tell us she “want to play with toys.” Nope. I’m a “dark circles have been a problem I was born with” kinda gal. I’ve even passed them onto Branden (sorry buds!). I have been using the Benefit Boi-ing concealer for years and it truly does help brighten my under eye circles and even gives me a dewey look. However, my problem runs a little bit deeper than just having the world’s greatest concealer handy at all times.
For a long time, I’ve constantly found myself asking how to get rid of dark circles under eyes and haven’t gotten past the cover-up phases. But now I know better. I’ve turned to natural remedies, as always, to get rid of dark circles under eyes and it’s helped tremendously. I’m not even afraid to run errands without makeup on anymore. Yup, these oils are that good.
Get rid of dark circles under eyes: for good!
You all know how I feel about essential oils and if you share that passion, then you will most likely have everything to make my under eye dark circle remover roller blend (see below) handy – maybe you just didn’t know that they were this powerful! So if you find yourself in the same boat as me with all the under eye problems, these 4 oils will help you on your journey to get rid of dark circles under eyes + I also outline how to use each one separately.
Chamomile oil
We’re all familiar with the powers of chamomile tea, well, chamomile essential oil does wonders, too. Known to promote sleep and be a natural stress reliever, it also has anti-inflammatory properties to help decrease puffiness when applied directly under the eyes. As always, be careful not to get the oil into your eyes. And if you’re looking for some sleep blends using chamomile, I’ve got some great blends here that are wonderful for the whole family. Buy Chamomile oil HERE!
Sweet almond oil
If you follow along with all the essential oil blend recipes I share (like this amazing body oil with 15+ uses), I always use sweet almond oil as my carrier oil. It’s just always been my favorite because it’s really gentle for the whole family and sensitive skin, and also has UV protective properties, too. It also works wonders to help get rid of dark circles under eyes because it contains Vitamin K, Palmatic Acid, and Retinol. Together, these work to smoothen, moisturize, and decrease the appearance of dark circles. Buy my favorite Sweet Almond Oil HERE!
Eucalyptus oil
Eucalyptus oil is strong and powerful and has so many amazing uses (read how I use it for fitness here!). When applied directly to the under eye area, it will reduce swelling and puffiness. But be VERY careful not to get it too close to your eyes and use a very small amount. Buy Eucalyptus oil HERE!
Sandalwood oil
Sandalwood not only smells amazing, but works wonders to help moisturize and hydrate your skin (which is why I always use it in Chris’s beard oil!). This one is actually most effectively used when a few drops are added to a bowl of steaming water and you let your skin take it in through the steam. Buy Sandalwood oil HERE!
